New Collection: ÓDI
Sparking off our new collection series, Homage, is the Ódi collection.
Named after the Yoruba word for Fortress, the inspiration for this collection came from one of the famous rocks in Nigeria, Olumo Rock.
ÓDI - meaning Fortress in Yoruba
Fortress /fɔːtrɪs / - a person or thing not susceptible to outside influence or disturbance.
The Olumo Rock is a symbol of the rich history of the Egba people in the state of Abeokuta Ogun, southwestern Nigeria and a source of strength and pride for the Egba people. It served as a fortress and a hideout for the Egba people during times of war in the 19th century. Legend has it that this rock was first discovered by a hunter and farmer named Adagba in the 19th century during the Oyo Empire and still have a few people living in it today.

The pieces in this collection are made from a very organic production process just like the way a rock in nature is formed. Each piece takes a life of its own as it's been smelted and formed.
This collection features 11 pieces in an exciting take on the symbolism and history of this rock.
